Rowanwood Avenue transmission watermain construction is restarting
Following extensive review a new location for the reception shaft has been found. Construction is expected to resume in mid-April and continue to November 2027. Construction will require a full closure of Rowanwood Avenue, east of Yonge Street.

The City has issued a road closure for Roxborough Street West between Yonge Street and Sam Tile/Paul Hahn Lanes to connect the 1 Roxborough site to the City’s water and sewer systems and to perform necessary infrastructure upgrades.

Macpherson Avenue construction update
Work is starting March 4, 2026 and expected to end March 31, 2026. (Timelines are subject to change.)
Originally, the watermain was relocated to support the work on Macpherson Avenue. The City is now preparing to restore the watermain work on Macpherson Avenue and return the watermain to its original location.
The Bloor-Yorkville Cultural Heritage Resource Assessment (CHRA) FINAL Context Statement
In December 2020, Heritage Planning engaged Common Bond Collective to prepare the Bloor-Yorkville Cultural Heritage Resource Assessment (CHRA) as part of, and coordinated with, the Bloor-Yorkville Secondary Plan Study.
The FINAL Context Statement is now completed.
Two letters responding to the Bloor-Yorkville Cultural Heritage Resource Assessment
In response to this final report, the ABC Residents Association (ABCRA), the Greater Yorkville Residents Association (GYRA), and the Bloor East Neighbourhood Association (BENA), representing the area covered by the assessment, commented on the report to the City’s Heritage Preservation staff and Councillor Saxe.
