The City of Toronto has identified Pricefield Park as an important amenity for the accessibility, liveability and mobility of the residents in the surrounding area. The City is seeking community input about its detailed proposal for significant improvements to Pricefield Road Park. The Park is located to the east of Yonge Street behind Scrivener Square/Summerhill LCBO and the Thornwood condo buildings.

The proposed improvements would provide more amenities and aim to make the park more attractive to all ages. Please spend a few minutes completing the survey before the June 30 deadline.

Public consultation – review emerging ideas for the park

The City of Toronto is exploring opportunities to improve Queen’s Park North, a historic and culturally significant green space, through a potential private donation from the Weston family.

Toronto Water’s contractor, Utility Force Construction Inc., is currently attending to an emergency sewer and watermain repair at the intersection of Yonge Street and Roxborough Street East. Roxborough Street East is closed to through traffic in both directions. Two-way traffic on Yonge Street is being maintained. Repairs are expected to take 3-4 weeks.

On May 22nd, Toronto City Council adopted a bylaw which restricts demonstrations in our city to 50 metres from schools, daycares, and places of worship.

Many have raised concerns over the protection of free speech as enshrined by the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. This is a deeply cherished right of every citizen and one which I hold dearly. This legislation, however, does not prevent anyone from protesting. Rather, this bylaw creates a modest space for those wishing to enter their community centres to do so.

Designs for a massive new housing development across from Scarborough’s Kennedy GO station look something like a technicolour game of Connect Four.

Hundreds of windows on three different towers are framed in circles of concrete, stained to vivid shades of yellow, orange, blue and red. The towers sit on a wide, interconnected base, which the architects say will be home to gathering spots, community gardens and a blanket of greenery.
