The Church of the Messiah at 240 Avenue Road, is home to the Avenue Road Food Bank. It’s difficult to believe that one of the wealthiest neighbourhoods in the city would need a food bank but their line-ups continue to lengthen. This local Daily Bread member food bank, serves 400 families and individuals in need each week.

The Common Table drop-in program needs your help
In 2021, the Church of the Redeemer’s Common Table program was awarded the Best-In-Class Visionary Food Program award by Daily Bread.
The Common Table drop-In program is a grassroots community effort run out of Church of the Redeemer at 162 Bloor Street West. From Monday to Friday they offer two healthy meals a day, daily toiletry supplies, basic health care services and housing referrals. On Thursdays and Fridays, the mobile outreach carts visit locations on and around Bloor Street. They also provide social and creative activities, psychotherapy, support groups and more. They rely totally on volunteers and donors.
Your contributions will help support vital programs to give food, clothing, and counselling to those experiencing homeless in our neighbourhood.
