Dianne Saxe, University-Rosedale Councillor
I hope you are enjoying the beautiful fall weather as much as I am. Thank you to everyone who helps to look after Toronto school children returning to school, including teachers, cleaners, cooks, bus drivers, and crossing guards. We know there have been rough spots with the new crossing guard contract, and have been promised that they are being fixed.
It is great to see The Economist magazine recognize Toronto, again, as one of the world’s most liveable cities. It’s worth counting our blessings for a moment, before we turn back to our challenges. University-Rosedale is a microcosm of the city’s success as well as its challenges. It is a complex ward of distinct communities, many undergoing rapid change. Our office must coordinate between four police divisions and three planning divisions. We have many of Toronto’s heritage buildings, and many disputes over them.
