Make your voice heard about Noise Issues in the Monday, October 22 Election

In a year's time, the City’s Municipal Licensing and Standards Division will be recommending a new noise bylaw and a new enforcement strategy, and Toronto Public Health, a new Noise Management Action Plan. Lets make sure we get the noise control we need.
Finally some support for better control of unwanted noise! The September 3 Toronto Star highlighted John Tory’s support for controlling motorcycle noise, and agreeing Torontonians should be able to sleep at night.  And the September 16 Star opinion piece on the dire health impacts of noise in large cities and how best practices control unwanted noise in other cities. Following letters to the editor supported the need for better controls. See the TNC’s updated website for details TorontoNoiseCoalition.ca.

YOU CAN HELP - ASK CANDIDATES
Tell the candidates about your noise issues and ask them to support new noise bylaw regulations and other actions that ensure we will have

  • a comprehensive noise bylaw, one that incorporates best practices to protects us from excessive noise, with an effective enforcement programme that has sufficient staff and resources, and NOT just 9 to 5 service

  • a development process that is open and public

  • compliance by City initiatives, such the Night Time Economy and Music in the Park
