We have just learned that the City has re-scheduled the Meeting to discuss the proposed changes to the Noise By-law. It will take place on April 10th at the Licensing and Standards Committee meeting.
We won't know before April 3rd what this important report will say.
This doesn't leave us much time to review the city's recommendations!
However, we do know that IT’S TIME TO MAKE YOUR VOICES HEARD about the need for better noise control and effective enforcement of regulations that protect our health from excessive noise. The New York City Noise Code shows us how this can be done.
The Toronto Noise Coalition (TNC) has received many responses to our recent emails detailing many noise problems disrupting peoples lives, studies, and businesses. This is the time to make the City very aware of your concerns so we are asking you to:
- PLAN TO ATTEND THE MEETING - Committee Room 1 at City Hall, 100 Queen Street West, Toronto starting at 9:30 AM.
- MAKE A DEPUTATION - Advise the Committee Clerk (email firstname.lastname@example.org) by noon on Monday April 9th, that you wish to speak to the item.
You will have 3 minutes to tell your story and advocate for better noise control and enforcement.
- EMAIL A LETTER to email@example.com addressed to the Licensing and Standards Committee Chair, Cesar Palacio, and members Jon Burnside, Glenn De Baeremaeker, Frank Di Giorgio, Jim Karygiannis, and Frances Nunziata.
