Visualizing Density was created by the Canadian Urban Institute with support from the Ontario Growth Secretariat through the Places to Grow Implementation Fund.
Visualizing Density is a pilot project created to help planners, designers, private-sector builders, elected officials and residents’ groups design more complete communities. The project, launched today by the Canadian Urban Institute, aims to contribute to the on-going conversation about managing growth and building great communities in Ontario.
Visualizing Density Case Studies
Canadian Urban Institute selected 5 very different communities to visualize what the built-form looks like in relation to density targets set out in the Provincial Growth Plan:
- Dundas and Carlaw, Toronto
- Cornell, Markham
- Uptown Core, Oakville
- The Barrel Yards, Waterloo
- Downtown Burlington
