Toronto seeks input on Third Party Sign Tax

The City of Toronto is looking for input from the public on potential changes to the City of Toronto Third Party Sign Tax (TPST).

At the September 8, 2016 meeting of the Planning and Growth Management Committee, the Committee requested that staff report back with a review of the third party sign tax since its implementation in 2010.

This review will include:

  • The number of signs by class;
  • TPST revenues by sign class;
  • Where revenue from the TPST is being allocated;
  • Industry trends; and,
  • Comparisons to other jurisdictions with a similar tax.

Staff are planning to report to the April 5th meeting of the Planning and Growth Management Committee with the results of this review and any recommendations for changes to the Billboard Tax.

A meeting will be held on February 27th at the North York Civic Centre, 5100 Yonge Street, in Council Chambers from 7:00pm to 9:00pm for discussion.

For those unable to attend in person, comments can also be sent directly to signbylawunit@toronto.ca

Thanks very much!
