John Caliendo "This has been incredibly distressful and disruptive to many neighbourhoods including our own. The narrative airbnb likes to propogate is the hip foodie couple from Portland on a Toronto cultural swing or the lovely twee family from Devon here for the jazz festival & some theatre & etc. The bit about all night 'keg parties', pissing on adjoining properties, police at 3am, speakers placed in backyards at full throttle, etc --- doesn't fit aforementioned hipster narrative. Except the "disruptive" bit of course. But wait, I thought the fashional silicon valley term 'disruptive' referred to the hospitality industry being disintermediated - not your ability to safely sleep in your own home."
