In ‘Talking Statues,’ Sing London Gives Artwork a Voice

LONDON — Queen Victoria was minding her own business, towering over Blackfriars Bridge in her usual way on a recent afternoon here, when a passer-by, a young woman visiting from South Korea, roused her to speak. The woman had just swiped her smartphone over a plaque at the bottom of Victoria’s statue, causing the phone to ring and prompting the former queen to speak.
