On Thursday, April 24, 2014 ABC residents and community members are invited to a public meeting on the rezoning application submitted for 121 Avenue Road. Thursday April 24, 2014, 7 to 9 PM at the Stone Church, 45 Davenport Road, Toronto This application is for a 14-storey mixed-use building containing 14 residential units and a gallery space on the ground floor.
Urbancorp has applied for a zoning by-law amendment for a proposed development plan for 121 Avenue Road at Webster Avenue, one block south of Davenport Road in the heart of Yorkville. Urbancorp is proposing a building that would reach 14 storeys in height containing 14 residential units along with a gallery space at grade. The development will stand where the St. Paul’s-Avenue Road United Church once stood. The church was constructed in 1877 and heritage designated in 1979, but fell victim to arson in 1995.
ABCRA opposes this development. application. In our opinion it does not comply with the intent of the area planning policies. It is interesting to note that in 2006 the OMB approved a 6 storey .23 meter building for this site. Urbancorp bought the site with that knowledge and should just build what was approved when they bought it.
Try to attend the public meeting to discuss this application. Your participation can make a difference.
