Youth In Policing Initiative Summer Program

To City Council and Community Groups,

Once again, the Toronto Police Service (TPS), in collaboration with the Toronto Police Services Board and the Ministry of Children and Youth Services, is now accepting applications for the 2014 Youth in Policing Initiative (YIPI) Summer Program.  Can you please disseminate this information within your Units/Divisions.

This Summer employment initiative focuses on diverse youth between the ages of 15 to 18 residing in the Priority Identified Neighbourhoods within the City of Toronto. The Toronto Police Service is seeking to employ 150 youth from June 30th to August 22nd to work with our members within various Units and our 17 Police Divisions. The core responsibilities include; working with members of the service to assist with community events, crime prevention, community outreach initiatives and administrative duties.

The Youth in Policing Initiative is a unique opportunity that should not be missed.  If you know or work with youth aged 15-18, who meet the eligibility criteria, please encourage them to apply.
