Toronto is a city full of creative people with Great Ideas on how to make this wonderful city even better. TheDemocraCityProject.org is a website that lets people suggest Great Ideas, support them and implement them.
The DemocraCity Great Ideas Contest is designed to be a spark plug for that first step: Suggest your Great Ideas for Toronto. Your ideas can relate to anthing: transportation, culture/art, planning, design, education, health, housing, safety/crime, or social programs.
The contest runs throughout November 2013 and will be featured in articles by our media sponsor, tonight newspaper (please see p. 11 of the October 31st issue) and tonightnews.ca. The top three ideas will be awarded prizes in December: 1st prize - a Samsung Galaxy Tablet; 2nd Prize - an Apple iPod 16GB nano, and; Honourable Mention - a Perfect Accessories Gift Bag.
To enter, visit TheDemocraCityProject.org or email your idea to firstname.lastname@example.org. On the login form on The DemocraCity Project website, register as a DemocraCitizen by providing your name, email and postal code and read and accept the Contest Rules. Then, on an Idea Form at http://www.thedemocracityproject.org/reports/submit, tell us your Great Idea for Toronto and the GTA by completing the necessary fields. Then submit your completed Idea Form (“Entry”). It will be vetted and, if approved, within a day or two, will be posted on TheDemocraCityProject.org website along with other Great Ideas.
Register once and enter as many different Great Ideas as you want.
We're hoping to have a follow-up contest in the spring of 2014 where the design community will be asked to envisage what some of these Great Ideas could look like.
Thank you for participating.
... and thank you for your support.
