North Wind Concerts 383 Huron Street Handel: Airs for the Theater

The success of Georg Frideric Händel’s career was due in significant part to his operasmost of which enjoyed great popularity and lengthy performance runs in early 18th-century London. And just as arrangements of tunes from Les Misérables or The Lion King are published for today’s audiences to enjoy at home, the instrumental music and arias from Händel’s operas were similarly arranged for smaller forces and published for the private use of music lovers in his time.
