There are exciting things happening in the Music Appreciation program these days! · Josh Grossman, Toronto Downtown Jazz Artistic Director, will be visiting our “Festival Preview: TD Toronto Jazz Festival” class on Friday morning to give us the behind-the-scenes scoop on this year’s TD Toronto Jazz Festival. Remember that you can pro-rate the course fee for music appreciation classes, so if you would like to drop by for this one class, please join us!
· “Festival Preview: Toronto Summer Music Festival” course starts June 22nd – join Rick Phillips as he explores the music and musicians coming to the festival this year.
· Fall Music Appreciation classes are now open for registration (scroll down past the summer courses to get to the fall course offerings). And if you spend $500 or more on fall Music Appreciation courses by June 26th, you’ll receive a FREE membership to our new Music Appreciation Insiders’ Society (MAIS). This membership includes special ticket offers to RCM concerts and events, bring-a-friend vouchers for each course you take, 15% off all winter/spring music appreciation courses, and much more!
· Our annual WIDE OPEN HOUSE is coming soon! Join us on Sunday, June 26th for an entire day of free concerts, classes, and all kinds of fun. Activities for children/families will take place from 10am until 3pm, and our new “after hours” adult portion of the day is from 2:30pm until 6pm. The afternoon adults-only activities include harp, percussion, and cello demonstrations & drop-in lessons, free music appreciation lectures, and a performance by opera-comedienne, Kyra Millan.
As always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions, or if you would prefer to be removed from the Music Appreciation Email List.
