TPL: RUSH SEATS ONLY 2016 Bluma Lecture: Margaret MacMillan

Professor Margaret MacMillan is a leading expert on history of the British Empire in the late 19th and 20th centuries and international relations in the 20th century. 

Her books include Paris 1919: Six Months that Changed the Worldwhich won several awards including the Governor General's Literary Award. 

Her most recent book The War That Ended Peace, was published in October, 2013. She is the Warden of St Antony's College and a Professor of International History at the University of Oxford. In 2006 Professor MacMillan was invested as an Officer of the Order of Canada and in 2016 she was appointed as a Companion of the Order of Canada.

Join us as Margaret MacMillan breaks new ground by examining the women who helped create history and whose voices help historians write it. 

Ticket Holders: Limit two tickets per library customer. Doors open at 6 pm. As most Appel Salon events are free, it is our policy to overbook. In case of a full program, your ticket reservation may not guarantee admission. 

Room Capacity: Based on fire code regulations the Appel Salon can accommodate seating for 458 in the main room. Seating is on a first come, first served basis. Additional overflow seating as well as standing room is available in the adjoining room. 

Rush Seats: A limited number of rush seats will be made available on the day of the event, beginning at 6 pm. Rush seat ticket holders are not guaranteed admittance and will be admitted into the event at 6:50 pm if seats are available. Unclaimed reservations will be released to customers in the rush seat lineup 10 minutes prior to the start of the program. We recommend that you arrive early.

Accessibility: Toronto Public Library is committed to providing equitable access to library service in a welcoming and supportive environment. A limited number of hearing assist devices are made available to all attendees at the Appel Salon bar.
