State of the Art in Urban Street Design, Thursday November 20

Come join us and hear about the latest in street design guidance in North America! Presenters include: Matthew Roe, Director, Designing Cities Initiative, NACTO, and Michael Flynn, Director of Active Transportation, Sam Schwartz Engineering, who are experienced practitioners in fostering livable and economically vibrant communities through street planning, design and policy.

 Prior to joining NACTO, Matthew was a Senior Planning and Research Manager at the New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT), leading programs that included arterial redesign and city-wide road safety planning, data and evaluation.  His work has included state- and city-wide safety plans as well as corridor traffic analysis for pedestrians, cyclists and transit.

 Prior to joining SSE, Mike served for ten years at the NYC DOT, most recently as Director of Capital Planning & Project Initiation. His work has spanned multi-modal planning and design, local and national design guidelines, climate resiliency and green infrastructure, capital program development, infrastructure funding and economic analysis.
